- The History of Glenn Lakes and The Estates at Glenn LakesCentex Homes began construction of Glenn Lakes Phase I in 1995. The area encompasses 271 acres including eight ponds. There are 371 homes in Glenn Lakes. There were 13 different one-story and two-story floor plans offered by the builder. All concrete block construction. Some of the properties back to the Manatee County Golf Course.
There is a park at the corner of 47th St. West and 44th Street West which includes a tennis court. The park is for the sole enjoyment of the residents.
The manadatory Homeowner's Association dues is $560.00 per year. The fee covers the upkeep of the common area that includes 11 lakes and ponds as well as five entrances and the park.

Centex began the sixth and final phase of the community in late 1999. The Estates @ Glenn Lakes is unique in that there are 65 maintenance free single family homes. The lot size are a bit larger as are the floor plans offered by the builder.
Residents pay $165.00 per month to have their lawns mowed, fertilized, edged, weeded, sprinklers monitored and maintained, trees and bushes trimmed on a weekly basis. There are two ponds in the community and a number of homes back to the Manatee County Golf Course.
